The Spoony Bards
The Spoony Bards formed at Anime Central 2004 when a group of friends, both old and new, decided that they couldn't NOT sit and play music in the con hotel lobby, despite being without any sound equipment or a piano. Five hundred signatures, an emergency keyboard and several audiences later, they realized they were on to something and haven't since stopped wanting to share their love of anime and videogame music with others.
Since then, the Spoony Bards have expanded to become a network of anime and gaming musicians who gather at anime conventions for hordes of musical fun.
Voices For
As last year, the convention will feature a concert from Voices For, a benefit project produced by Jan Scott-Frazier that brings together voice acting talents to cover songs around a central theme. The newest release from Voices For is entitled Voices for Tolerance, and features vocals from guest Carli Mosier, as well as Chris Ayres, Greg Ayres, and Brittney Karbowski. Last year’s release, Voices for Peace, saw proceeds donated to charities including C.A.R.E. and Doctors Without Borders.
