Funny Stones and Mai Concert
Come for a fun and exciting time with cosplay Jpop artists FUNNY STONES and MAI!!
Get a taste of Akiba Japan with two, yes, TWO, separate shows on Friday and Saturday featuring two of Akihabara's hottest acts!! Have your glow-sticks and energy drinks ready as Funny Stones sing hit songs off their trance laced debut album "SKY CLEAR!" And while your shoes are still smoking Aki and Maro will teach you the latest dance moves out of Japan! Mai's performance brings out a creative edge as she presents her own visual carnival while singing popular hit Anime themes Akiba style!! Both exciting shows feature the girls changing through an array of cute and delightful costumes throughout their performance!!
Meet these girls up close and personal before Friday's show for the "Intro to Funny Stones and Mai"session! Bring home your own copies of their albums, cosplay DVDs and posters and get them signed at signing sessions after their concert and the TenBu Panel! Visit their informative panels: The Akihabara Moe Panel with Akiko and Maro on Friday, the "TenBu Focus Panel" on Saturday, and Mai's "Gothic Lolita Panel" on Sunday!!
At Sugoicon, we continue to try new twists on old favorites, and the Cosplay is no exception! If you're nervous about the idea of getting up onstage, have no worries on that score -- there is no stage! Instead, we'll have a friendly and informal reception, cosplayers mingling with congoers, with judging quietly going off on the side. All the prizes are based on costume quality, so you don't need to have a skit ready... but hamming it up for the crowd never hurts, ne?
From the screen to your hands, learn the skills of anime from the experts! We can teach you everything from how to paint a cel to how to assemble a good music video, or just sit down and be dazzled by the instructors' skills.
You may know the game, but you don't know your enemy. Aside from a variety of console games, we have a DDR Extreme arcade game this year, with time for beginners as well as master dancers. Join our tournaments and find out how good you really are!
table-top gamingThe Tabletop Gaming Room is back this year and even better than ever! Yottaquest Fantasy Gaming is sponsoring the Game Room this year, and will have our room stocked with more games than you can shake a Pocky (dark chocolate of course) at. In addition to our Friday Night Magic the Gathering draft tournament, and the now traditional Saturday Yugioh Championship there will also be tons of other games available to play all weekend! Demo the new Universal Fighting System card game, play a round or three of great games like Apples to Apples and Munchkin... or sign up to play in the weekend long Magic Draft pods, no matter what type of game you prefer or how good you are there will be something fun for you to do!
Anime has given us some wild plots, but some stories can only be drawn from life. Come on in and listen to our guests tell you how they came to be anime professionals, have discussions with other fans of your favorite shows, or learn more about aspects of Japanese culture!
Here is a chance to use those times of singing in your car or the shower a chance to shine to fellow fans! As you walk by the Upper Terrace during Friday and Saturday evenings, rest at the tables and listen to the brave fans singing their favorite Jpop and anime songs. Or better yet, try a few tunes yourself! Be entertained as our Hosts conduct the evening with music, singing from the fans, and even the Third Annual Air Guitar Contest on Saturday night. On Sunday, still wandering the con and have no idea what else to do? Join our newly added Sunday afternoon Karaoke session to while away the time! Karaoke Rules are now available. Also, a list of karaoke songs is now available.
dance
Bringing new meaning to the term "otaku-funk", our dance on Saturday night is the perfect way to release the day's energy! We've got the best in anime soundtracks mixed with the most eclectic club hits. You never know what you might hear or who you'll see!

Sometimes, you remember a show you'd like to share with a friend, but can't find it. Or, you want to try out a show before buying it. We have the solution! The best of the past, present, and future of anime will be on display full-time. Settle in with a few dozen friends and get to the point of our hobby - the shows!
music video contest Like great songs, anime can be exciting, sad, romantic, and funny. If you're a fan who likes to combine the two, we want to see your work!
