Welcome to SugoiCon, Cincinnati's premier Japanese animation convention! 2006 will be our seventh year of operation! 2007-1-15 Update: "Sugoi Con would like to thank it's attendees for an outstanding 2006 Convention, and we are excited to announce we will be back in 2007! Please check back at this website for further announcements.". 2006-10-23 Update: A list of available karaoke songs has been linked to the karaoke section of our programming page. Also, a Vendors FAQ to answer some questions we've been asked has been posted to the vendor's page. 2006-10-17 Update: We have more information on the Funny Stones and Mai Concert is available on the programming page. We hope to see you there at what is sure to be a good time. 2006-10-15 Update: More registration news. The list of confirmed pre-registered attendees (as of 10-14-2006) is available from the registration page. 2006-10-12 Update: In addition to various small changes to the website, the vendors page has been updated with a list of vendors who will be in our vendors room this year. Also, we have registration news. The list of confirmed pre-registered attendees (as of 10-8-2006) is available from the registration page. 2006-09-28 Update: Jeremy Hudson, our Vendors and Industry Liaison has been suffering from some severe e-mail troubles of late. Those problems have now been fixed so if you tried to contact him before and did not receive a reply, please re-submit your questions. 2006-09-27 Update: We have a smaller update this time around. The flyers have been updated to reflect the latest guest announcements. For those who would like a new copy of the latest flyers, they may be downloaded on the publications page. 2006-09-19 Update: We have a big update this time around. First off, an announcement. To guarantee the $92 a night convention rate at the hotel, you must call the hotel at their (859) 371-2233 number by September 26. Secondly, I need to announce that due to overwhelming response, the artist alley is currently full. If you would like to contact someone about this, or to have your name added to a waiting list, please email our artist alley department through our contact page. Next up on our list is the Anime Music Video Contest. We now have a contact for the contest available on the contact page. The description has been updated, and rules, as well as a registration form for the contest are available on our programming page Last up on the list is the update and posting of our registration policies and types of registrations on the registration page 2006-09-12 Update: The vendors page has been updated with tentative Dealers room hours. This information has also been posted to the programming page for convenience. More updates to the programming page should be happening soon. 2006-09-11 Update: Another Japanese Guest of Honor has been added! One of Japan's rising stars, Cosplay J-pop Singer, dancer, and costume designer, Mai is making her international debut here at SugoiCon!! Check out the rest of her bio on the guests page. Some updates have been made to the programming page. More updates to the programming page should be happening soon. 2006-09-10 Update: For those who are interested and like to plan ahead, our location page now has a map of the hotel with convention locations labeled, so you'll know just where to look for your favorite event. Some minor updates to the programming page have been made as well. 2006-09-09 Update: General Convention hours have been posted to our programming page. More photos have been added to the programming page. Registration hours and registration "at the door" prices have been posted on our registration page. More updates to the programming page should be happening soon. 2006-09-08 Update: It just keeps getting better! We are pleased to announce a new Japanese Guest of Honor, voice actor Hidenobu Kiuchi. For more information, please see our Guests page. 2006-09-07 Update: For those of you who have made reservations, or are planning on staying at the hotel for Sugoicon, please make sure that the Holiday Inn, phone number (859)371-2233 have you confirmed as being registered for Sugoicon so that you get the correct room rate, and that we get proper credit for you stay. 2006-09-06 Update: Our Artist's Alley pages are now up with the latest information, so artists, head on over and check it out! 2006-09-05 Update: Check out our publications page for some updated official flyers available for download. Both print and screen versions are available. The old version of the flyer contained the hotel's national number, but due to some concerns that the national line may not process the Sugoicon discount correctly, the new flyers have the direct number for the hotel. Also, the publications page has a larger print .pdf of the registration form for those of you who were having problems with the older application form's size. Also, keep checking back, as the artist's alley page will be updated soon with the information you need for 2006. 2006-08-28 Update: Welcome Brittany Layne as our contact person for Artist Alley. Both print and screen versions are available. 2006-08-10 Update: Quicky GoH update. SugoiCon is happy to announce the addition of TenBu Productions' Lead Artist: Austell Callwood to our ever-growing list of guests! We've also tweaked and updated a number of our Guest bios. View our Guests page for more info. Also, we have made some adjustments to the Contacts page. Hopefully this will remedy some of the trouble people have been having contacting certain departments. We apologise for the inconvenience. 2006-08-09 Update: More awesomeness! SugoiCon is pleased to announce our first pair of Japanese Guests! The Cosplay J-pop Duo: Akiko and Maro of Funny Stones! This will only be the second appearance for Funny Stones in the US and they're looking forward to meeting more US anime fans. They will be singing and performing in a concert event for us, and don't worry, they'll be bringing their costume wardrobe as well! View our Guests page for more info. 2006-06-20 Update: Huge update of awesomeness! SugoiCon adds Doug Smith, Jan Scott Frazier, Greg Ayres, and Dan Hess as confirmed guests for 2006!! View our guests page for more info. Also, preregistration information is now available on our Registration page. 2006-03-20 Update: SugoiCon has officially locked in our dates/location for 2006! SugoiCon will occur on October 27th till October 29th, 2006 at the Holiday Inn Cincinnati Airport Convention Center in Erlanger, Kentucky. Longtime SugoiCon attendees might remember that we actually were at this hotel from 2000 till 2002. The Holiday Inn is happy to have us back, and we're happy to be back.
