NEWS FROM SUGOICON 2005
2005-10-05 Update:
Joshua Seth regretfully is no longer able to attend SugoiCon due to
unfortunate personal reasons. We do however have a new guest. SugoiCon
is pleased to announce that Christopher Ayers will be attending this
year. Please visit our Guests Page for more information.
2005-10-03 Update:
SugoiCon has a band!
D'espairsRay, a Japanese visual rock group, has been stunning the
Japanese music scene with a steady onslaught of unique, dark, hard rock
releases since their debut. Their lyrics are centered around pain and
the grotesque, and most of their songs have some lyrics written in
English. Don't miss this high energy, in-your-face performance that
fans of good hard rock music from any nation can appreciate!
Please click here for
more information on how to attend this concert.

We have finally
recovered from attending Anime
Central last weekend and we who sat at the Sugoi Con table in
the dealer's room would like to thank all the nice people who stopped
by to say hi, or to pre-reg! For those who were not able to attend
Anime Central this year, you missed out on a great con and a great
time.
Anyway, on to business... Sugoi Con is pleased to announce a virtual
avalanche of new Guests of Honor for this year's convention! We welcome
Monica Rial, Greg Ayres,
Jan Scott-Frazier, Doug Smith, Neil Nadelman and our first Japanese
GOH, Kazuko Tadano!
Finally, I would like to thank all the people who responded to our call

think we have enough english majors now. ^_^;;

April 12, 2004 - SugoiCon Needs YOUR Help!
Things are moving
along nicely behind the scenes at the con right now but we DO
have an immediate need for more staffers! Anime
conventions can't happen without the donation of time and energy from
dedicated fans and we're starting to run low on fanpower. We can use
volunteers in just about every department, but we have a particular
need for fans who have skills in the areas of art, page layout/design,
and writing (any English majors out there?). If you have what it takes
to be a SugoiCon staffer (it doesn't take much ^_^) and would like to
help out, please send a message to Dana
Weaver and tell us what you would like to help out with.
March 30, 2004

Sorry for the long
silence, folks. We at Sugoi Con have been breaking our backs behind the
scenes to make sure we can bring the best convention to you this year
that is possible. Unfortunately, until things are set in stone, we
can't really announce them, so we ask you to wait a bit longer.
However, there IS one thing that we can announce for sure:
We are proud to announce that we have acquired a DDR Max 2 (7th Mix)
Arcade Game for Sugoi Con 2002. So practice your moves and bring your
burning soul! Oh, and this year we're planning to set aside some
'beginner time' for people to learn how to play the game without
worrying about being around the intimidating DDR gods.
