SWEK
It took a core of five fearsome forces
to form the band of ruffians/anime enthusiasts known as SWEK. Gorging
themselves on various anime, j-pop, and j-rock music and regurgitating
it with their own personal flavour, SWEK has only one ambition:
to take over the world, one anime con at a time. They ask only one
thing of you: are you ready?

At Sugoicon, we continue to try new twists on old favorites, and the Cosplay
is no exception! If you're nervous about the idea of getting up onstage,
have no worries on that score -- there is no stage! Instead, we'll have
a friendly and informal reception, cosplayers mingling with congoers,
with judging quietly going off on the side. All the prizes are based on
costume quality, so you don't need to have a skit ready... but hamming
it up for the crowd never hurts, ne?
The Cosplay rules are now online!
Click on the link to check them out and plan
your costume!

From the screen to your hands, learn the skills of anime from the experts!
We can teach you everything from how to paint a cel to how to assemble
a good music video, or just sit down and be dazzled by the instructors'
skills.

Sugoicon's Artist Alley is a place where inspiring artists can
come to show off what they can do. There is no charge for the tables,
but there is no reserving tables, either. Table are "first come, first
served."
Unfortunately, there is NO art show this year. Sorry.

You may know the game, but you don't know your enemy. Aside from
a variety of console games, we have a DDR Max 2 arcade game this year,
with time for beginners as well as master dancers. Join our tournaments
and find out how good you really are!

Speaking of games, there will be a Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament at the
convention. more details will be available at the convention.

Anime has given us some wild plots, but some stories can only
be drawn from life. Come on in and listen to our guests tell you how
they came to be anime professionals, have discussions with other fans
of your favorite shows, or learn more about aspects of Japanese culture!

While you're showing off your costume, show off your voice! Along
with our Friday night free-for-all karaoke, we'll also have a chance
for you to display your talents in style at the cosplay reception on
Saturday. Make sure to bring your song and be ready to put your heart
into it!

Bringing new meaning to the term "otaku-funk", our dance on Saturday
night is the perfect way to release the day's energy! We've got the
best in anime soundtracks mixed with the most eclectic club hits. You
never know what you might hear or who you'll see!

Sometimes, you remember a show you'd like to share with a friend,
but can't find it. Or, you want to try out a show before buying it.
We have the solution! The best of the past, present, and future of anime
will be on display full-time. Settle in with a few dozen friends and
get to the point of our hobby - the shows!

Like great songs, anime can be exciting, sad, romantic, and funny.
If you're a fan who likes to combine the two, we want to see your work!
We'll have specific rules up soon. Join our contest and give your artistry
a live audience! The Music
Video Contest rules are here. (The rules will open in a new window.)
NEW!!! This year, we are accepting digital submissions!
